Card Management and Automated Fraud Monitoring

Managing your card should be convenient. With our card management features, you can set up all of the alerts you need to stay on top of your finances. Set different alerts for transaction or merchant types, geographic locations, spending limits and more! Receive alerts by email or push notifications on your mobile device. As an added bonus, we are always monitoring your account for signs of fraud and will let you know as soon as we see something wrong with your card.

How to Use Card Controls
A free feature of digital banking, you can adjust your card controls online or through the Mobile App.

    Get Started With Card Controls

    In the Mobile App:

    • Log in and tap “Cards” on the bottom of the screen.
    • Scroll down, and select "Controls and Alerts".

    In Online Banking:

    • Log in and select “Debit Card” at the top of the screen.
    • Then select “Controls and Alerts”.

    You will then see a list of your debit cards. If you have multiple debit cards, you can set controls for each card!

    (Note: Your eligible, active Old National cards will be defaulted to "ON" the first time you view them.)

    Monitor
    Know exactly what is happening with your Debit Mastercard®, anytime and anywhere. Select only the alerts you want, and leave the rest! Receive alerts by email or push notification on your phone.

    Manage
    Use Card Controls to immediately turn your Old National Debit Mastercard on or off in case your card is misplaced or lost, or for any other reason. Turn on as many Card Controls as you would like. There is no cost to use them.

    Use
    Choose which types of transactions you would like to allow, and block the rest. Set spend limits so you don't go over budget.

Automated Fraud Monitoring

Your Debit Card Is Automatically Enrolled

These two-way fraud alerts are free. If we ever suspect your card is being used fraudulently, we’ll send you a real-time text, email or phone call asking for your Yes/No confirmation. If it is fraud, we will immediately shut down your card.

Make Sure You Get Fraud Alerts

Please verify that we have your current contact info:

  • In Online Banking, select “My Settings” to confirm or update.
  • In the Mobile App, select “More” from the bottom menu, then choose “Settings” followed by “My Settings.”

You Can Opt Out of Fraud Alerts

We believe our automated fraud monitoring system helps keep your account safe. However, you can opt out by replying STOP to a text message, replying STOP to an email message, or following the prompts on a voice alert message.

Frequently Asked Questions

A: After logging in to the Mobile App, select "Cards" on the bottom of the screen.

You will then see a carousel of your debit cards. Active debit cards which are available for Card Controls use are by default set to "ON" the first time you view them. Suspended cards which are not available for Card Controls are displayed as “OFF.”

Setting Card Controls to "ON" or "OFF" 

  • Use the ON/OFF toggle to set the debit card status as being active or suspended.
  • Setting the card status to “OFF” suspends all activity on the debit card. The status must be set to “ON” to use the debit card.
  • A debit card must be turned "ON" to add Controls and Alerts.

  • Choose the debit card you want to set, make sure the Card Status is set to Active/ON and scroll down to tap "Controls and Alerts".
  • The Controls and Alerts screen will open with four options:
    • Locations
      • Enable “My Location” to limit transactions to your phone’s GPS, and “My Region” to set geographic boundaries.
    • Merchant Types
      • Select the merchant types you want to allow by tapping the toggle for each. When finished, select “Apply.”
    • Transaction Types
      • Select the transaction types you want to allow by tapping the toggle for each. When finished, select “Apply.”
    • Spend Limits
      • Spend Controls put a cap on your spending by limiting transaction amounts. Turn on the toggle, enter your desired amount, and select “Apply.

Setting debit card Alerts

  • After selecting "Controls and Alerts", tap "Alerts" and choose which transaction types you would like to receive alerts for. Select "Apply" when finished.

A note about Email vs. Text Alerts
Card Controls Alerts are emailed to the email address you have listed in Online Banking under Notifications and Settings on the Alerts & Notifications screen. You may also receive push notifications on your mobile phone if you have enabled that option in your phone's settings. There is not a way to turn off the email alerts.

A: If you have followed instructions for setting up Card Controls, and you are not receiving alerts, we recommend the following:

Check or update your contact information
Ensure we have your most current information on file. You can do this in one of two ways.

  1. Log in to Online Banking from a browser and select My Settings in the upper right corner of the screen.
  2. Log in to the ONB Mobile App, select More from the bottom menu, then choose Settings followed by My Settings.

Know where your Alerts will arrive
Card Controls Alerts are emailed to the email address you have listed in Online Banking under Notifications and Settings on the Alerts & Notifications screen. You may also receive push notifications on your mobile phone if you have enabled that option in your phone's settings. There is not a way to turn off the email alerts.

A: Card Controls is a feature within our Online Banking and Mobile Banking platforms. We regularly test, update and validate our security model to ensure we maintain a banking grade level of security.

A: Yes. You must be logged in to Old National Online Banking or the Mobile App to set up and use Card Controls.

A: Both Card Controls and Automated Fraud Monitoring help to protect you from fraudulent activity on your debit card and account.

Card Controls give you direct control within Online Banking or the Mobile App. You are able to select the types of alerts you want to receive, set spending limits, decline transactions and more.

Automated Fraud Monitoring is a service Old National debit card holders are automatically enrolled in. If we ever suspect that your card is being used by someone other than you, we’ll send you a real-time text alert, email or phone call and ask for your confirmation. Based on your response, we can immediately shut down your card if necessary. If you prefer, you can opt out of Automated Fraud Monitoring alerts.

Both Card Controls and Automated Fraud Monitoring are free services, and together they provide a double layer of protection for your account and debit card.
