Join Old National Bank in empowering communities, your organization through financial education

At Old National Bank, we believe in making financial education accessible and impactful for everyone. In 2024, Old National’s Real-Life Finance and financial empowerment efforts reached more than 30,000 individuals.

With a team of more than 230 licensed instructors and the ability to host workshops throughout the Midwest and Southeast, we are committed to empowering communities with financial knowledge.

"Driving financial education into all markets within our footprint is crucial. It ensures that everyone, regardless of their location, has access to the knowledge and tools they need to make informed financial decisions," explained Ben Joergens, Financial Empowerment Director. “We were pleased to expand our reach last year to include more than 2,800 Spanish-speaking participants, with plans to continue that growth.”

Equipping with confidence

Sam Taylor, Banking Center Manager in Owensboro, Kentucky, is a long-time ONB Financial Empowerment instructor. Last year he taught 43 classes reaching more than 1,000 individuals.

“Financial empowerment isn’t just about understanding numbers – it’s about building confidence in making proper choices that align with one’s values and long-term aspirations,” said Sam. “By equipping our community with the knowledge of budgeting, saving, investing, and managing debt we are helping them build a secure financial future and avoid the common pitfalls that tend to arise.”

Sam continued, “I absolutely love it when a client who has been a part of one of our programs stops by and shares their success story and how our programs have impacted their lives.”

Growing through partnerships

Old National has established several Financial Empowerment corporate and university partnerships. One of these is in Chicago through the DePaul University Keeley Center for Financial Services.

“Financial education and community service are two of the platform pillars of DePaul's Keeley Academy. Through the generous sponsorship of Old National Bank, DePaul's Keeley Academy students receive training and certification in financial education, enhancing their financial well-being,” explained Marin Essenburg, DePaul Senior Instructor and Executive Director, Keeley Center for Financial Services.

“Additionally, it allows the DePaul Keely students to empower high school students from under-resourced communities through a financial education service project done in partnership with Old National. This partnership enables Old National and DePaul to work together to uplift and educate these high school students, creating a lasting ripple effect of financial empowerment.”
